Cedar Waxwing Visit

Much to my surprise yesterday a flock of Cedar Waxwings stopped over on their migration to my neighbors crab apple tree. There was a Robin that had claimed the tree for his own until the ground thawed.  The Robin would chase any starling or squirrel away that would try to eat his crab apples.  Now he tried this with the dozen Waxwings but gave up after while.  They fed in the tree for several hours.  They did not return today so I suspect they are heading north.
